This summer was a busy season for College of International Cooperative Education. All faculty and staff members of the college seized opportunities, performed their respective duties, and fulfilled their responsibilities and obligations through practical actions. They contributed to planning and conducting of various affairs of the college, and continuously promoted the high-quality development of the college.
I. Party building
Taking Party building as the guide, the Party branch of the college adhered to the "first topic" system, and promoted learning and discussion in areas such as Party discipline, warning education, ideology, and construction of curriculum ideology and politics. With a high sense of devotion and responsibility, all the Party members, faculty and staff vigorously planned the development of their academic fields. They also organized international students to carry out practical activities, held international tests, offered IELTS lectures to serve the society, and expanded overseas study programs. All the faculty and staff members were willingly taking on practical responsibilities and striving forward with high spirits.

II. Discipline and major development and research
Grassroots academic organizations actively participated in the pre-evaluation of undergraduate education evaluation according to the work deployment of the college. They thoroughly completed the preparation of teaching syllabus, graduation thesis, course videos, graduation internships, courses, and exam papers, designated responsible persons, and ensured orderly progress and effective implementation. Backbone teachers actively participated in expert interviews and took expert feedbacks and act accordingly. After the feedback meeting, all teachers carried out self-inspection and self-examination, formulated detailed rectification measures, and made full preparations for the undergraduate education review and evaluation.

With discipline construction as the guide, the college continuously strengthened academic exchanges and faculty building. In early July, Professor Cui Dan led a team to Athens, Greece, to attend the 17th International Conference on Languages and Linguistics and gave a keynote speech at the conference. From July 19th to 21st, Deng Xiaoming, Vice Dean, led a team to participate in the special training on "Leadership of Ideological and Political Education, Empowerment of Digital Education - Transformation and Upgrading of Higher Education" hosted by the National Network Training Center for College Teachers. This training enabled a deeper understanding of industry development trends, good knowledge of experience and practices for learning, which prepared for the comprehensive promotion of the construction of curriculum ideology and politics in the college.


III. International student work
The international student service center carefully formulated a meticulous work plan. The center put in effect a holiday duty system for the management of international student dormitory, and conducted in-depth visits to students living off campus, to ensure that all the international students (over 300 in number) from different countries could have a fulfilling and safe holiday. In addition, the center also organized international students to participate in internship and practical activities at the Dalian Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the World Nuclear University Week held in Zhejiang, where they won the highest awards of platinum and silver. Besides, the center received two short-term visiting groups from Russia and Thailand and the students not only learned basic Chinese and related professional courses, but also deeply experienced the regional culture of Longjiang.
The college achieved excellent results in the event, "Perception of China", organized by the China Scholarship Council, with Harbin Electric Group Co., Ltd., which was recommended, successfully selected as the "Perception of China" practice base. Two micro courses, "Exploration of Chinese Manufacturing Equipment - Harbin Electric Group" by Liu Chang and "Living in the Global Village - Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind" by Zhang Jinqiu stood out among numerous competing courses and were selected as the "Perception of China" micro courses, which would be showcased on the "CSC Talent Online" platform.
The college actively planned comprehensive cooperation with overseas enterprises and took innovative steps in the field of international cooperative education. On August 12th, Land Glory Group from Indonesia donated 300,000 US dollars to HEU Education Development Foundation to establish the "HEU - Land Glory Scholarship", which aimed to support the development of the school's global education cause and to inject new vitality into our school's international cooperative education.
The college completed high-quality enrollment promotion and admission during the summer vacation. For the autumn semester, more than 200 students for long-term Chinese language training were admitted, and significant progress was made in the enrollment of undergraduate students for Chinese language and literature, with 32 students admitted, twice the number for the previous year.



IV. International Preparatory course program
To meet the needs and requests of teachers and students, the college program office has selected experienced teachers to give IELTS lectures during the summer, systematically teaching students IELTS, imparting test skills and strategies, sharing knowledge about the test process and precautions, so that test takers could prepare for the test in a more targeted way. The teaching team customized a learning plan based on the actual situation of each student. Through the unremitting efforts of the students and the hard work of the teachers, all the students who participated in the IELTS tutoring lecture have achieved gratifying results.


The summer vacation was a critical period for program promotion. The program office and the international curriculum center made active and thorough preparation for program promotion and market development for the new semester. Teachers conducted point-to-point visits to key high schools within the province and carried out on-site program promotion in other cities and provinces.


V. General affairs of the college
During the summer vacation, the general affairs office provided logistical support for activities such as holding meetings, using seals, financial reimbursement, and document issuance, and conducted detailed safety inspections on all classrooms, offices, and apartments. Classrooms in Dormitory Building 12, college conference rooms, online course live streaming systems, and psychological counseling room were redesigned and updated. The building signage has been maintained and updated, all public equipment has been comprehensively inspected, and various teaching materials have been purchased, to create a good working and learning environment for teachers as well as students. During the summer vacation, the general affairs office also assisted the school trade union in sending warm birthday greeting cards to faculty and staff, adding to their sense of belonging and happiness.



During the summer vacation, the International test Center conducted environmental maintenance on test venues for IELTS, TOEFL, and GRE, updated road signs and signage. Power supply equipment, monitoring equipment, and air conditioning equipment were checked and tested. Besides, drills were carried out to deal with technical problems that may arise during tests. Fire safety passages, evacuation safety instructions, smoke detection and alarm equipment were also checked on a daily basis.
During the summer vacation, the college formed a team of more than 10 staff members, mainly composed of backbone teachers, to participate in exam organization work 24/7. The test center held various tests for 60 days and provided service for 2,000 candidates throughout the holiday.



Due to the work and effort in the summer vacation, all teachers in the college have worked together to create a positive atmosphere of persistent endeavor and progress. In the future, the college will continue to adhere to the service concept of "everything for teachers and students", ensuring that every task can achieve the best results and contribute to the internationalization development of our university.
