Harbin Engineering University (HEU), founded in 1953, is located in Harbin, Ice City, near beautiful Songhua River. HEU is one of the first key universities in the national "211 Project" (to set up 100 national key universities in 21st Century) and the key construction on the Specific Disciplines Innovation Platform (belongs to national 985 project), and the first batch of key constructed universities in China having graduate school. HEU is one of the key universities with Chinese Government Scholarship and International Chinese Language
Teachers Scholarship for international students, and provides HEU scholarship for international students. The HSK proficiency test site in Harbin engineering university is one of the recommended institutions have the qualification to recommend the Confucius Institute Scholarship.
Application Requirements
1. Be a non-Chinese citizen;
2. Be friendly to China, have no criminal record, abide by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of the Host Institution;
3. Be in good physical and mental health, be in good academic and behavioral standing;
4. Be interested in Chinese language education and related work;
5. Be aged between 16 and 35 years (on September 1, 2023). The maximum age limit for in-service Chinese teachers may be extended to 45, but those who apply for a scholarship for a Bachelor's degree shall be younger than 25 under most circumstances.
Remarks:
Applicants currently studying in China are not eligible to apply for the one academic year scholarship.
Applicants with holding visas X1 or X2 are not eligible to apply for the one semester and four weeks scholarship.
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship for International Chinese Language Teachers includes: tuition, accommodation fees on campus, monthly living allowance(except for four weeks scholarship), and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowance is 2500 Yuan per month for undergraduate students, one academic year students and one semester students.
Note: Scholarship students should register at the time specified in the admission letter of the host institution, otherwise the scholarship will be canceled. For those who register before the 15th day of the current month (including the 15th day), full living expenses will be granted in the current month; Those who register after 15th will receive half a month's living allowance. Scholarship students who leave China for more than 15 days due to personal reasons during the study period (excluding summer and winter holidays) will be deprived of living expenses.

Applicants can log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website at http://cis.chinese.cn, set up an individual account, complete and submit the Confucius Institute Scholarship.
Applicants should submit the application materials online, pay attention to the application process, audit opinion and scholarship evaluation results.

The Center commissions a panel of experts to conduct centralized evaluation: select the best grants according to HSK and HSKK test scores and levels, taking into account factors such as countries, etc. The evaluation work will be completed about 3 months before admission, and the evaluation results will be announced.
Application Documents
Photocopy of passport photo page. Applicants under the age of 18 shall submit relevant legal documents of entrusted legal guardians in China.
Photocopies of HSK、HSKK score reports(valid for two years).
Notarized highest education diploma attained(scheduled graduation proof), academic transcripts .
Reference letter that signed by head of the recommendation agency.
The Chinese teacher shall submit an incumbency certificate issued by the employment agency and a letter of recommendation.
In-service Chinese language teachers who apply for various scholarships may provide employment certificates and recommendation letters issued by their employers, and are not required to submit HSK certificates.
3. Chinese Bridge winners who have been awarded the "International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship Certificate" in various Chinese Language Bridge competitions shall log on the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship website and submit the application materials to the target host institution with the scholarship certificate.
