Recently, the on-site competition of the Fourth National University Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition (Heilongjiang Region) came to an end. A total of 27 teachers from our university received awards, including 4 special prizes, 5 first prizes, 7 second prizes, and 11 third prizes, which fully demonstrated our university’s teachers’ solid teaching skills and profound professional knowledge in engaging in education and teaching reform and innovation.
This competition was hosted by the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education and organized by our university. A total of 535 teachers (teams) from 39 universities across the province were selected to participate in the provincial competition. After expert online reviews, 130 teachers (teams) competed in the final on-site round. The competition ultimately awarded 14 special prizes, 43 first prizes, 73 second prizes, and 130 third prizes. The 14 teachers (teams) who won special prizes will represent universities in Heilongjiang in the national competition.
In this competition, teacher Liu Chang from the Chinese Culture Center of the school won the second prize for her course "Overview of China," which is a compulsory cultural course for international students across the university. Through studying this course, students can grasp the basic knowledge of Chinese humanities and social development and acquire the ability to correctly understand China's development process. It plays an important role in cultivating feelings of understanding and friendship towards China and enhancing the recognition of Chinese social and cultural values.

Teacher Liu Chang and her team focused on the construction of new liberal arts and addressed the difficulties in teaching practice. They reconstructed modular teaching content, created experiential learning environments, and adopted a parallel "Chinese + culture" teaching method to enrich new approaches to national conditions education. They strive for the coordinated unity of course knowledge, abilities, and emotional goals, continuously explore composite international talent training models, further improve the quality of education for international students in China, lay a solid foundation for students to become international ambassadors who understand and are friendly towards China, promote the construction of new liberal arts, drive Chinese culture to go global, and tell China's stories well and spread China's voice effectively.
